The MM App allows you to generate letters and documents for each Matter using templates you have created or subscribed to. This article covers how to find and merge a simple letter to a visa applicant.
1. Open the Matter
Open the relevant Matter. If its a recent Matter you can do this quickly via the Recent Matters list under Home > Matters > Recent Matters

2. Open the Letter Templates
In the Actions bar, click the New Letter button to open the Word Merge window

3. Find and Select the Template
Select the folder that contains the template you want to merge and then select the relevant template.
Tip: If you go to the All Templates folder you can use the search field to find the template
Note that if you want to merge multiple documents, this can be done by using your Ctrl key and mouse to select each of the templates you wish to merge

4. Set Particulars
Before you merge a letter, you have the ability to specify a number of particulars about how the merge should behave including:
- What the document name should be
- Whether it should be merged with a letterhead included
- **The Matter from which the details to be inserted in to the merge fields in template should be pulled from
- The folder for the selected Matter in to which the document is to be saved in to
- Whether the generated file name should be appended with
- The Users Initials
- The current date and time
- The Matter Reference
- What should happen after the merge has completed
- Whether you want the merge window to remain open or close after the merging has completed
- Whether the MM App should navigate to the Documents tab after the merging has completed
**The most important option to set is Selected Matter. If you do not set the correct Matter the data which is used will not be correct.
