Creating a New User

This article covers how to add a new User to the MM App.

1. Open the New User window

To open the New User window, go to Settings menu in the Action toolbar and click Staff > Users

2. Add a New User

Once the Users window appears, click the Add button

3. User Details

On the User Profile window, in the User Details section, enter the following information:

  • Display Name: This will be the name that the user is identified as for things such as setting responsibility on a file, reminders, etc
  • Login Email: This is the email address that this user will use to log in. When you create this user, a temporary password email will be sent to this address as soon as you click Save & Close.
  • Family Name, Given Names etc: Enter in the other identifying information about this user. This information will be used by the App when generating letters, forms etc.

 

4. Registration Details

If this user has registration details applicable to their role i.e. they are a Lawyer or Registered Migration Agent, enter this information into the Registrations/Licences/Identifiers section

5. Position Details

The Position Details section allows you to record details about this person's position within the firm, their default hourly billing rate and which office they belong to.

6. Security Groups

The Security Groups section allows you to set three categories of security groups:

  • Client File Access - These groups control which Client files a user can gain access to. If they are a member of a security group which is permitted to access a Client file, then the user can open that Client file. By default all users are a member of the All Users group.
  • Report Access - These groups determine which Reports a user can generate. Access to Reports is controlled via Settings > Permissions > Report Permissions
  • User Permission controls - these groups determine which user permissions are enabled for this user. User permissions are controlled via Settings > Permissions > User Permissions

A user can be a member of many groups.

7. Save & Close

You can enter other information in to the Contact, Preferences etc tabs, but that is not required at this stage.

To create this user, click Save & Close
